Still...Feeling... Patriotic...Help....

Okay, lemme back up and explain something. Every Halloween and Christmas, I have a period where I'm still in a "trick or treat," and "Holiday Cheery" mood. It last for roughly four days to a week at the very least. This never, and I mean NEVER happens for Easter, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Patriots Day(definitely not that dreadful day...) Veteran's Day's, St. Patrick's Day, DEFINITELY not Valentine's Day,(which reminds me of my loneliness) and especially not on Independence Day. Yet for some reason, I'm still in the mood to express my American patriotism. This normally doesn't happen, as like everyone else I just enjoy the holiday and go on with my life. But not this year, as I seem to be consumed with this radiating pride of my nationality. Yes, even despite the fact that Trump and Christi are being dragged through the mud by Liberal Media. I just don't care, and it's freaking me out! Dx I think what happened was this might've been sparked by my indulgence in some Captain America iconography during the holiday... And if that's true, I think I might to see a shrink, because I think my inner child's had enough of my cynicism and has taken over. See prior to and after Independence Day, I tend to curse the U.S. for its urge to stay divided amongst its political affiliations, instead of just building bridges and getting along. I think my inner child's had enough of me doing that, and just took over. "How am I typing this," you ask? Well he's asleep, he has a curfew after all. :p Well, I'll see how I feel next week, because that might not be the case. It might just be the holiday lingering feeling I get, just with Independence Day added to the list... I really hope this doesn't happen annually from this point on.

This is interesting and I am sure that it will pass. I feel like a child trapped in an adults body sometimes and I do see a counselor to help me manage my life and it helps.

@Hanyouyomi Politics is such a nuisance and so much nonsense. But writing and being childlike are wonderful things.

@melindataylor22 Funny how that works... Because I agree, but I expect a system run by a group of sheltered and out of touch rich folks(note, I'm not accusing them of being white since that's far from the truth) to be a nuisance. And yet, indulging in my childhood keeps me sane... I was feeling like my cynical old self until I decided to watch a lifestream last night of old Cartoon Network cartoons and commercials from 1999 to 2004... I regret doing that, because I now feel like I'll soon start indulging in cartoons and music that enjoyed during that time. Heck, I recently learned of a traveling festival called "90s Bar" which will be in my home town Dallas, TX next month. I'm considering attending that to indulge in all the 90s nostalgia of my childhood. The only drawback to any of this is after indulging in material from my youth, I'll feel old as dirt because of how I'm consuming with modern technology... I know I'm old when I'm watching cartoons like Dexter's Lab, Kids Next Door, Adventures Of Billy And Mandy, and the 80s Ninja Turtles cartoon on my iMac, as opposed to a 30 inch box t.v.

@melindataylor22 It's waning... I'm back to feeling ill about the division in this miserable excuse for a nation, and how Trump's the latest punching bag... However I'm starting to care less and less about those wusses in the Republican party...-_- But as far as my inner child goes, I chose to keep him, because he's responsible for my creativity as a writer... Well partially, as my years of aging and learning have allowed me to hone my story telling skills. But if these past few days were any indication, I started to get worried...

I wish I have a sense of national pride but I can't because I kept moving on different countries. I did love one country but seeing it crumble into pieces pains me. America is not perfect but I understand why Americans are Proud of Red,White and Blue. It influenced the world like no other.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Huh, that's what I get for making assumptions, because I thought you were a born and raised Phillipino. And yeah, we do take pride on our nation, as I was originally gonna make a post pointing out how funny it is that Independence Day is one of the few days where American shut up about their political difference and enjoy "just being Americans." Because every other day it feels like all Americans do is engage in spats about their political affiliations. But what I'm getting at is, I was gonna make that post,(and I still might...) until I found myself overcome with this "post holiday zeal." Thank goodness it's waning too, as I'm sure I'll be back to my cynical self by tomorrow.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Sounds no different from America really, because I've found it interesting how no one these days mentions how the confederates were the first democrats and the union were the first republicans. Meaning Abraham Lincoln who signed the Emancipation Proclamation was a Republican. But no, because we've had a few dumb republican presidents in recent history, our academic system and media has saw fit to muddy the waters. The Democrats and Liberal media have done to demonize the republican party, making it seem like they were the slavers and racists of old, which is B.S. Although the Republican Party did this to themselves embracing conservatism, and not working to show the American people "we're on your side." In fact between the republicans being spineless and democrat's lack of honesty, I'm convinced they're working together to keep the masses in line and all this bickering is aa front... But humanity's proven to me it's dumb enough to carry a conflict on for centuries, so that theory's gone. But my point in that tirade is yeah, America's got revisionist history too, all to control the masses, and it makes me sick...

@Hanyouyomi I do think Republicans and democrats secretly works together. I mean what is with the stupid law that independents have to have a 15 percent ratings before they can join the debate. How can they get ratings if they are not given a chance to show what they got.
