Here in our town there is a man who is a maths genius. He serves as a maths teacher at a high school. But,even he himself admits,he is not a good teacher. He does not have the ability to explain the subject to his students in a easy-to-understand way.
I think, teaching is much more difficult than learning.Do you agree?

That's exactly what a Math teacher I had said: there's no need to be a genius in order to be a teacher, actually being a genius might worsen things.
Unless someone has the "gift of teaching", a genius but with the skills of being able to make others understand easily, that would be the only exception.

@sabtraversa Agreed, it is like being a leader. They can empathize more with the yearnings of common folks if they were one of them previously. Otherwise it is more of "if they don't have bread why can't they eat cakes?"
I have mentioned in my last post how leaders set their agenda for confrontation with countries ignoring the vast majority have no issues to coexist with one another. The problems and wars are kept alive by politicians, arms merchants and religious bigots - siva

@prashu228 Are you a teacher? If yes,see the problem with the eyes of your students.

But learning is hard if the teaching is not good.
I had classmates coming to me asking to explain them how to do an exercise, because I was better than teachers at explaining how things worked, especially in Maths.
Teachers are required to have empathy and some mind-reading skills, you have to understand how your students think in order to guide them to the reasoning needed to familiarize and learn a concept.

@sabtraversa You are absolutely right. You can't be a good teacher unless you have the ability to read student's mind and unless you understand how they think. And you can't explain a subject to others unless you yourself know it well.To be a good teacher you need to be a good learner first.

A teacher should know how to teach students..But I think it is not that difficult if they used to it..I mean to say is that a teacher should understand the concept well, when he or she was student..If they understand the subject better, they can teach better..

@Awasthi123 You're right. But understanding a concept is one thing and making other's understand it is another.Teaching is an art. A person may understand a subject very well, but they may not necessarily be a good teacher.

@Awasthi123 You're are right.Imagine, you're a teaching taking a class.Imagine, you are a teacher and your students are sitting in front of you.Try to explain the subject to them.
But remember, here the students are imaginary.Imaginary students can't tell you what problems they are facing. The proactive you have mentioned can improve your speaking skills only.To be a good teacher you need to make the subject easy for your students.

@else34 Yes I completely agree with you..But if a person understand the subject well and they will able to teach others..
They have to practice how to teach others..If they teach imaginery classes then they will able to teach in real life..
