Lost and found but you have to pay some fee

Just last week,my neighbor's daughter went missing for a few hours.Towards evening, she was found in the custody of a middle-aged lady who demanded to be paid some cash for her to release the girl. But since the girl's mother had no money at that time, she just released the girl but after being promised getting the cash later. Oops!It seems services rendered right there by a good samaritan thus the need for money to exchange hands.

@cacay1 I don't what the girl's mother plans to do since she is yet to pay the cash.

@cacay1 She demanded for Ksh1000, equivalent to $10, which is already too much as per economic situation right now. And the girl did not break anything or do something that might have amounted for such a price

I also thought the same and yet the lady turned around everything to look like she had done something which to earn her some cash.

How the girl reached to that lady? If the mother of the girl file any case against this lady then it won't be good. However, I understand the mentality of a mother, she wanted her daughter back, not bothering about money.

The kid unknowingly wandered far from home before realizing that she cannot trace her way back. The joy of finally finding her little girl was the best thing to happen so not thinking much about the price that came with the reunion.

@waflay Yes, I understood the feelings of her mother of course. But the other lady's demand can't be appreciated.

There are greedy people out there who think money comes first in everything yet no harm in doing good and not ask for anything in return.I think such people just invite misfortunes coming their way.

@waflay I agree. Bad karma is waiting to strike to them in time.

Isn't that the same thing as asking for ransom? Not completely since the lady would not hurt the girl, but they were still holding a person until she was paid. That is a little terrifying.

The girl's mother did not have money at that time,so it became a debt on her part to be paid later.
