Do You Know the Difference?

Some camels have one hump and some have two humps. Do you know the difference? Where do these camels live? The one-humped camel, the Arabian or dromedary camel, lives in North Africa and the Mideast but the two-humped camel, the Bactrian camel, which has longer hair, lives in central Asia. I always get them mixed up. Camels are interesting animals that I really don’t know much about. I do know that they don't store water in their humps. They store fat there. Have you ever ridden on a camel?

I did not know about the fat in their humps. Until I was little the people around me told that they store water for long distances...interesting thing. Thank you! And about riding...I have never done this yet, but it is a point on my "to do things in life". Until now I am happy that I had the opportunity to just see and touch a real one.

"To do things in life" list is what I call my "Bucket List" Have you even seen that movie? A "Bucket List" is a list of things you want to do before you die. I still have a few things on my bucket list. One is to take a hot air balloon ride. I have traveled quite a bit and I have visited many places, but there are STILL many things that I would like to do and places that I would like to go, but probably won't be able to, now that I've reached old age.

@ManoleAlexandra There have been some hot air balloon crashes and so I am a bit afraid of doing it, but I just want a short ride, so maybe I can find one like that. I hope that you will be safe if you decide to take a hot air balloon ride.

@IreneVincent To take a hot air balloon ride is one of my wishes, too and I will try to do this this summer...I hope that I will and you will, too. I think that if we really want something, the universe will work for us. And about that movie, I did not see it yet, but it sounds interesting.

I have not. Did you Australia has a problem with rogue camels? They were imported in and turned loose once of no use and now they breed out of control and destroying huge tracts of natural terrain.

Yes, I have heard about those rogue camels in Australia. Sort of like the rogue donkeys in the Grand Canyon.
