Steve Whitmore who was the puppeteer of Kermit The Frog was a victim of being fired by Muppet Studios and Disney since they decided to go in a new direction. Whitmore was the puppeteer for Kermit for 27 years before he claimed he was relieved of his duties in October 2017 by his bosses at Disney. It is evident that the drawing power of the Muppets is coming to an end since Disney's attempts to have the Muppets star in a television show fell through. One reason that Matt Vogel will replace Steve Whitmore as the puppeteer of Kermit that Disney could afford to pay the salary of Whitmore since Disney has fallen on hard times with the recent layoffs of employees at ESPN and other ventures of their company. Don't panic Steve Whitmore, just be the puppeteer of another character that is not a wimp Kermit The Frog.
