Okay, so I was celebrating with @AbbyGreenhill yesterday about saving all that money by not taking advantage of Amazon Prime. I boasted one day too early. I have Apple TV now, and one of the things I have on there is You Tube. And, one of the things that hasn't been yanked off of You Tube for copyright infringement is Lou Grant. You have no clue how much I loved Lou Grant. When I joined the Navy I actually looked at buying a VCR to tape it while I was in boot camp. Let me point out quickly that this was when VCRs were about the size of a handicapped stall in the bathroom and cost nearly as much as my first car. And, you betcha, I have trivia: Jack Bannon, who played Art Donovan on Lou Grant, is the son of Petticoat Junction star Bea Benaderet. He's also married to John Travolta's sister, Ellen. I would have thought that MTM productions or CBS, who put out The Mary Tyler Moore Show on DVD, would have issued the great, Emmy-winning spinoff that transitioned Lou from a TV news producer to a major city newspaper editor. Nope. Instead, the great "cult classics" company, Shout Factory, put them out. Oh, well, as long as they are out. And yes, I ordered them. Christmas in July, indeed! Here's the first season opening credits (loved Robert Walden and Daryl Anderson from that show):

They do indeed. They are the ones who put out DVDs of The Electric Company as well.

I used to watch Lou Grant. It always puzzled how Lou went from a sitcom for yucks then to a serious newsroom.
