Water Phobia...How?

So the Teacher or the so called Teacher goes and throws my youngest Son right into the deep end of the Swimming Pool.
He just watched him cough and splutter and splutter.
He did not go to rescue him either.
I was very annoyed and after all the work I had put in to get him to go into the sea that one guy who thought himself Gods gift to women of the year went and ruined all of it.
It took me months of taking him back to the infants end of the Pool and teaching him again.
At first he would hold on to me like crazy but lucky for me a few of his friends turned up and made him laugh so that did help some.
Eventually and after almost breaking my arm once too as he grabbed hold of me so strong that I banged my arm against the wall in the deep end and it was black and blue.
As I was saying eventually I managed to get him to drop the fear of water and he learned to swim somewhat.
Okay so he is not the best or the fastest swimmer of then all but instead of going and shouting that Trainer down I just thanked God that I had got him back into the water.
But it did cost me.
Photo is of him and me before all that happened.

I felt like flooring him as well but I was not at my best during those months either.
So I concentrated on getting the fear out of him very gently and it worked too.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes I was young too when my son was a child and I had practically zero patience and would have probably attacked that teacher which would not have been in my best interest.

No it would not really but I felt like it and I did not want the Trainer to undo any more than what he had done already.
Actually they changed him so they must have realized what was going on with others too.
I have a hot temper too Tiara but takes a lot to stoke it up but if they do all hell is let loose lol.

What a stupid idiotic fool that so called trainer was. He should be sacked from that job. How stupid can stupid be. I am glad your son has overcome his fear but that has probably tarnished him for the rest of his life. I am angry just reading that the poor boy.

Nevertheless it happen Gary.
I was too busy looking after him to really have a go at him at the School as he was always sick with Bronchial Asthma an awful lot.
They did move him to another job after that as my son was not the only victim of his tricks.

My friends almost drowned me when I was young and I never could learn how to swim. I can only swim if I have a life jacket on. I bought one and keep it handy in case I need it.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I'm not worried as I'm only 68 and so there is lots of time.

I can very well understand that and its a ver logical phobia and fear.
You might be able to get over it some day but don´t force it either as I found with my youngest I had to play various games to get him in the water it was exhausting sometimes but it did eventually work.

That was a very cruel thing for that guy to do. I am sorry that you had to go through a broken arm but at least now your son can enjoy being in the water. Did you say something to higher up about what this man did? I would of had a few words for him had it been my son.

I did protest yes but then there were not a lot of good teachers there that would listen.
I was much too busy with him as he used to suffer Bronchial Asthma a lot so I was mostly at the Doctors or staying up hours late at night all that sort of thing.
He was petrified of water for ages but I managed to get through to him but with lots of persuasion also and persistence.

@lovinangelsinstead21 That was the last thing your son needed. You did right by encouraging him to get back in the water. You are a better teacher than that guy could ever be.

I had to carry him on my back and with a ring round him.
I turned it into a game and bit by bit took him deeper into the water but always playing.
That guy did it to other kiddies as well.
I can´nt understand how the Spanish put up with things like that and yet protest at the minimum for nothing way they are.

He did not say a word to him he just picked him up and threw him in.
For me it was just plain bullying.
He got moved on anyhow I should not wonder after what he did and was doing.

i read some news feeds on FB about how a swimming teacher can instruct younger people to swim, and one is to throw the kid in the water. i think it is good if the kid is already taught the basics of swimming;otherwise, it should not be done at all to those kids who show fright and get scared with water.

He did it on purpose.
He forced him to do what he did not want to do.
For me that is not the way.
In other countries to swim is to play and learn and to not be bullied in such a way.
When I was at School we had to put up with bullying buf from certain Teachers whom against you did not dare say a word.

I know how you feel I really do my eldest was very hard one to come to terms with he would not even put a foot in the edge of the water by the shore.
It did not even cover his feet.
However he did it by himself bit by bit.

You protected you own son, that's a great achievement even as a mother (saving another's life), the greatest being giving birth to a child (that's true for you)!
And if one day he becomes a good swimmer, he'll definitely remember that arm that almost broke while helping!
I wish you two best of luck!

Yes and I almost broke my back as he was on my back a lot of the time in the water and I took him in deeper as he got more confident and then into the sea again.
With the sea I just started him off by splashing around and playing ball and bought him some goggles to pretend and flippers too.
