Blisters Gardening

This morning, I had decided to do some gardening task for my overgrown garden which you can see in this picture. See the overgrown grass? Those grass were as tall to my waistline in just 4 months! Previous, my hubby had cut off the grass but they are growing again after rainfall. Since I didn't have any gardening tools in hand, not even the big scissors to trim off the grass nor a lawn mower to mow them down. I had to use the usual scissors used for cutting cloths. I had worn a pair of gloves to protect my hands. After cutting the stems of the grass for 30 minutes, my fingers started to form blisters, the skin was scraped off, revealing the wounds and it was stinging. I had to stop the tasks and apply the yellow lotion to heal the blisters. I need to think of another way to cut off the tall grass that won't cause blisters. Do you have any ideas? picture taken and belonged to @peachpurple

You need a grass trimmer or a lawnmower for that.

Generally, it should not happen. I think there must be some reaction due to the contact of some chemicals and fertilizers. Please check up if there is anything like that on the plants.
