Its Going To Be Emotional!

July 18, 2017 8:07am CST
I work in a primary school, I have worked there for over 6 years, all 4 of my children have also attended the school. I worked there while 2 of my children were there and they love that I was there with them. My daughter is the only one still in primary school and this week is her last ever week as she goes to high school in September, for me it is the end of an era, going to work and seeing my kids there, its all going to be done. I am extremely emotional, and I mean emotional, I walked along the year 6 corridor yesterday and nearly bawled my eyes out watching them practice for leaving dances and assembly's etc. Tonight is her leaving disco, as I work there I get invited by the year 6s, I am going to go, but know for an absolute fact I am going to cry :-( some people are sympathetic, some people tell me oh don't be daft she is only going on to another school, they don't get it. Anyone else have these sorts of feelings with events of their childrens milestone's? or am I really that soft and emotional lol...

Emotions are a good sign, I guess. It may relieve some stress too

I have a very hard time letting my sons go, but I force myself to let them... I realize they need to be able to lead their own lives and I cannot be there forever for them... I get very emotional too at every events of their lives...

I can understand your emotions, when my son graduated from his kindy, I was emotional too, thinking back for 6 years of milestone, how I was cradling him in my arms and now he is 10 years old, a big boy now. It is alright to cry but don't over do it. You are a super mom and teacher.
