The drive through central and northwestern Ohio was gorgeous yesterday, but it kept me off here most of the day. So as I eat on the way to the third and final show of the road trip I'll give you my next song on my list of favorites used in commercials.
#8: Lust for Life - Iggy Pop
I said this with "Blister in the Sun," but it really bears repeating here: do these people listen to the freaking lyrics when they pick these songs? Truthfully, how many people heard this blasting out of their TV and turned to see a cruise ship and thought, "What the fire truck?????"
The Godfather of Punk, Iggy Pop, wrote this song with David Bowie on one of their "we'll get clean, but not today" jaunts. And what do you know, this has even shown up in a Rugrats movie?!
Oh, well, who listens to the lyrics (about a heroin dealer) anyway??

@kobesbuddy Me either. If I am at someones house and they have the tv on I try to get away as fast as I can. It has never been important to me.
