This is one animal that I do know the name of and it is a South American Scarlet Ibis. It is in the tropical bird building and it is one of my favorites. There are a lot of these walking around that building and they are friendly. I always loved them even when I was a kid and we went here. There used to be one that would follow me around when we were in there. I love how pink they are and that they basically just look like little flamingos. This little guy kept running up to the feeding bowl that was right behind the bench we were sitting on. I got a lot of nice photos of tropical birds and flowers in here that I am excited to share with y'all.

No. It is a South American Scarlet Ibis. Flamingos are a lot bigger/taller and surprisingly not as pink. Adult Scarlet Ibis can range from 22 to 30 inches tall. Adult Flamingos can range from 3 ft to 5 ft in height.

They are very bright pink and a lot pinker than flamingos are. Or at least brighter than the ones at the zoo.
