Australian Woman Killed by Police in Minnesota

United States

I am assuming that most Americans have heard of the story and most Australians. A woman from Australia had moved to the Minneapolis area to marry her American fiancee. She heard what she believed to be a sexual attack close to her home and called the police. When the police came, she walked to the driver's side, still in her pajamas, to talk to the officer. The officer in the passenger's side shot and killed the woman. Neither officer were wearing their body cams. The cameras were not rolling. there were no witnesses. The woman was white. The officer who shot her was black, Muslim and Somalian. He refuses to give a statement. There had been a few complaints against him in less than two years of his being on the force. There is no demand for the victim - no marches - no public out cry. The mayor, a female, gave a weak statement about the incident. CNN had some analysis as to why no one seems to care that this woman visiting from Australia was shot dead by a police officer whom she had called. I am horribly troubled by the story. The situation stinks. I wonder if this was some sort of pay back for the many black men shot and killed unfairly by mostly white police officers. Is this police officer next going to swear support to Isis? But there has been very minimal support for the victim and her family. I feel awful for them. No one seems to be demanding answers and I mean demanding. What do other mylotters think of this situation?

Yeah. It's so sad. I've heard about this on the news this week. They still don't have answers on what happened. One officer is on administrative leave. Just terrible for the whole family.
