Just A Quick Question MyLotters

When you all share your work and your stories here, do you ever worry about having someone steel your work? Does MyLot have a way to help protect what we share? And have you ever had any of your work stolen? What would you do?

I only write about my life here so I highly doubt anyone would want to copy it. Lol.

Hah! I don't remember how many posts I found on bubblews dealing with very personal family matters which were copied from the net. It seems absurd, but believe me, it's true. They were often easy to detect when the writer was male but used female pronouns. The culprits just copied texts without reading them and mostly not even understanding them. They were mostly from Vietnam.

One of my articles was plagiarised here - and the offender was warned. She however repeated the offense and is no longer here.

MyLot is not the first writing site I'm active on. Over the years several of my posts have been stolen. I've found them on obscure writing sites I'd never heard of. These sites have no address, no names I could turn to. If they are not from my own country, what can I do? Should I hire a lawyer for international copyright problems to defend my rights? What would that cost? What would I gain? The idea that myLot should protect our posts makes me laugh. How can the myLot peeps prevent baddies from stealing content? That's naive.

You are so right. There isn't much we can do about the baddies. I also write on other websites and share my work on my social media sites like fb. The only thing we can always turn to is the fact that our post are at least dated as to when it was written if we ever do find out someone has taken your work. We always run a risk but those risk should never allow us to be afraid to share. You never know who may be reading that will open up amazing doors for you. :-)

I never had this kind of concern. It's just your own opinions and thoughts you put in here. How can that be stolen I wonder?

@MistyckMoon I would definitely like an advice then. I always wondered how writers manage to write an article on any topic they are given with. Every time they use different words and blah blah. I wish to be a part time writer like for the sites iwritter and freelancer. I have written an article once that got accepted and then two articles which I wrote superficially without a soul and got it rejected. I certainly lack an idea of how to start wonderfully.

@hydraa Try to use your imagination and enter the situation you need to write, try to live right now and make decisions as if it is real and you have to find your way in the imaginary situation. It will definitely give you a lot of material to write about

@gilggg oh yeah! Sorry, I was being way too judgmental and in a haste interpreted the comment wrong.
