Well, I guess it had to happen, but I thought that it would be a bear that would scare the living daylights out of me. Instead it was a tick.
She came in behind me as I was working on the computer and told me that she didn't want to freak me out, but... she just found a tick on her body but she was able to pull him out and she was getting ready to go to the Walk In Clinic... with the little guy in a plastic bag to be send to a lab to find out if he carried Lyme Disease.
Obviously I went with her... Luckily the Walk in Clinic WASN'T busy for a change and she was able to get in to see a doctor within ten minutes. He prescribed antibiotics and sent us home. I'm hoping that is all there is to it, but I really don't know??
So much for a quiet day. I will keep you updated. And I'm almost ready to give up living in the country... I think that she might be thinking the same thing right about now!

Luckily she is on antibiotics and the tick might not even be carrying Lyme Disease... you just can't take the risk.

@Hate2Iron me neither. I never even worried about them last year when we were camping but this year I am kind of glad we are not camping. It scares me.

@Happy2BeMe You think that you are doing everything right and then you find one on you. I have never been so scared in my life!

Me too... luckily she managed to grab it with a pair of tweezers.

On my return from the US I panicked as I found a tick and rushed to the Accident and Emergency as that was the advice given to travellers. The UK doctor was really laid back and said "we see a lot of those." Nobody seemed worried at all. I suppose I was given antiiotics as a precaution.

The doctor that saw her apparently wasn't that concerned either. I was scared enough for all of us combined.

I think to transmit Lyme disease they have to be on for a little while, hopefully, she got it off right away.

She thinks that she did... it had just begun when she saw it.

They say that ticks are particularly bad this summer.

Ticks are a way of life around here..but fortunately, we don't get bitten that often. When I go to cut the grass I have been putting spray on though.
