What do we know about India? Well everyone knows about Gandhi (we've all seen the movie - perhaps it should be made compulsory viewing in the Middle East so they can learn peace!). We all know too that it is poor, and lagging China in infrastructure (though starting at last to address this). Also that it is the world's largest democracy. That Indians are very creative and entreprenerial, but also have a problem with corruption and tax evasion. Message to Indians reading this: don't evade tax, your government won't be able to pay for the infrastructure improvements if you continue evasion, and without infrastructure, you are doomed to lag behind China. The richest countries in the world per capita are in Scandinavia, and they have the lowest level of tax evasion and corruption. Think about it the way Gandhi thought about his campaign - if everyone is only for himself, and not acting collectively, nothing of importance can be achieved. I wish India luck in solving her problems.
