I'm enjoying a quiet, pleasant evening at home (no, I'm not out taking the new car for a bunch of joy rides....yet), and I'm ready to present another song on my list of ten favorites that have been featured in commercials. Can't keep this song, or this great, off the list, that's for sure! #5: Bossa Nova Baby - Elvis Presley Here's to Heineken! I'm sure that Elvis would have preferred to have a song selling peanut butter and banana sandwiches or something, but..... A really bouncy, fun song from his film Fun in Acapulco was used in a Heineken Beer ad in 2014. They've used a lot of varying genres in their ads, just as VW has over the years, so they're to be commended for that. This is one of Elvis' more underrated movie songs, in my opinion. The performance in the film was hokey (but it was the 60s, and people were more interested in watching Elvis shake than his obviously fake organ playing), but the song is still terrific.
