Why Did God Create The Earth? Watch the Video Everyone knows that the Earth is different from other planets. One huge difference is WATER, which exists in abundance on the earth. Just think about the huge oceans. While the water in the oceans is not drinkable, every day huge amounts of moisture that is free from the salt in the ocean is pulled up by evaporation and condensation, into the clouds and rained down to the earth to fill rivers and streams and lakes. Scientists estimate that approximately 505,000 km (121,000 cu mi) of water falls to the earth each year, in the form of rain, snow, hail, and sleet, but the mass of water on the earth remains constant. All the water on the earth is the water that has always been on the earth. It doesn’t increase or decrease. The sun, an important factor, draws the water up into the clouds and then it is recycled and used over and over again. No other planet has this cycle of water. Just think about the huge waterfalls all over the earth, formed from springs in the earth that produce pure drinking water. Think about the wells that have been dug down into the earth from which clean water can be drawn. No other planet has an underground aquifer from which water can be drawn. Even under the deserts of this earth, there is water. God, in his wisdom, knew that plants, animals and humans would need clean drinking water. The Bible has a lot to say about this amazing hydrologic cycle. “Yes, God is greater than we can know. The number of his years is beyond comprehension. He draws up the drops of water. They condense into rain from his mist. Then the clouds pour it down. They shower down upon mankind. Can anyone understand the layers of clouds, the thundering from his tent? See how he spreads his lightning over it and covers the depths of the sea. By these he sustains the peoples.” From the book of Job, that was written centuries ago. (Job 36:26-31) Also, from another ancient book, at Ecclesiastes 1:7: “All the rivers flow into the sea. Yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow: There they flow again.” Ecclesiastes 11:3: “If the clouds are filled with water, they will pour down rain on the earth…” Amos 5:8 “…the one who summons the waters of the sea, to pour them out on the surface of the earth. Jehovah is his name.” Psalms 104:10: “He sends springs into the valleys between the mountains they flow. They provide water for all the wild beasts of the field…He is watering the mountains from his upper rooms…He is making grass grow for the cattle and vegetation for mankind’s use.” These are just a few of the ancient scriptures than confirm the truth about the water cycle long before man ever figured it out. The water cycle is, indeed, a marvellous arrangement. Most scientists believe that nearly all of the water on Earth today arrived quite early in Earth's history from comets (many of which have now been shown to consist mainly of ice). All of the planets in the solar system (except for Mercury and Venus, which are too hot) have considerable quantities of water though it mostly exists as ice. It is almost certain that there are planets in other star systems which have a similar water cycle to that on Earth. Whether or not there is life on those planets has not yet been shown but there is some evidence to suggest that there are or have been processes which produce similar compounds (for example, methane) to those produced by life on Earth, both in our own solar system and on distant planets in other systems.

The problem with believing what scientists say is that they don't agree with each other. Most of what they put in print is based on theories, because NONE of them have ever traveled to another planet. Whereas GOD CREATED the Earth and all the planets and stars in the Universe. HE had it all written down for us to read. I personally have more faith in what GOD says, while scientists continue to SEARCH for answers, because they admit they don't HAVE all the answers..

@IreneVincent - That year - 1969 - I was in Denmark at a big convention.. had an old fashioned tape recorder to record the programs.. I was pioneer that time and we got free food at conventions.. I was allmost 24 - could listen to the programs without problems.. Happy memories.. My first big convention was in 1963 in Stockholm.. we were about 25 000 from Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.. There has been a lot of growth since that time..

Hello Marja, have you been to the convention yet? I went to North Carolina and went to the convention there with my oldest son and his wife. It was wonderful. Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law's father had just passed away and she was very sad about that. But, I stayed with them ten days and my grandson went with me. We were able to keep her busy and get her mind off of sad things for a few days. By the time we left, she was a little better, I think. Her father was an elder, but had been sick for quite some time. He was 86.
