Okay, this show is over, so no more commercials! It's time to wrap up this series of favorite songs that have popped up in TV ads. Here's the song at the top of the list. #1: Adalida - George Strait A churning, Cajun-flavored hit for country music's number three all-time biggest singles chart act (behind Eddy Arnold and George Jones) was featured in a quite humorous ad for Bud Light, as they were sponsoring Strait's tours at the time. Strait was in a bar, singing the song with its lyrics telling a "I'll do anything in the world for you because I love you so much" story. A woman sashays up to the stage and reaches for Strait's lone remaining Bud Light at his feet. He kicks it away from her reach, leans down, and says, "Don't get carried away, darlin'. It's just a song." George Strait has had sixty, count 'em sixty number one hits over the course of his career. This was not one of them (it "only" made it to number three), but it's one of my favorites by one of the last of the die-hard traditionalists. Thanks for reading. Adalida Written by Mike Geiger, Woody Mullis and Michael Huffman Recorded by George Strait From Lead On, 1995 Used in Bud Light commercial, 1995 You can make a redneck green:

I had to go over to You Tube to watch it because I didn't remember it. I do remember. Funny.

I only know George Strait by reputation. Never heard this song before.
