Looking Forward to My Family Reunion!

In a little over a month, my husband and I will load up the car and hit the road. We'll travel north on our annual pilgrimage to my family reunion in West Virginia. I have a giant family, and we are very fond of one another. Unfortunately, we are a bit far-flung across the country (and sometimes the world, for those of us who are in the military), and so we usually all see each other only once a year, at the family reunion on Labor Day weekend.
Everyone brings some yummy homemade food and a hand-made item to be entered in our auction. The auction raises money to pay for the building rental and also to award scholarships for the younger cousins who are going to college. I usually have a hand-knitted afghan to sell, and sometimes some artwork. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Thanks! Sometimes people complain that the auction takes too long, but anybody who wants to chat instead can go outside the building and sit there to visit.

It's really simple food, like green beans and macaroni and cheese and pepperoni rolls, deviled eggs and lasagna, ham, fried chicken and lots of desserts like cookies, cakes and pies and fruit cobblers. Good down-home stuff :)
