Oh, My! I Caused A Big Trouble To Everyone in the Office

Just a while ago, my order online for a pepper spray finally arrived.
I bought it to protect myself after my scary experience from a pedicab driver, I posted about in http://www.mylot.com/post/3085963/what-a-scare-i-had-the-other-night
You see, I was curious as to how to use it. So, I sprayed it on the wall of my office room. The moment I sprayed a little, it emitted a very strong and dizzying chemical that made me cough a lot. Good thing, I am using my reading glasses thus some of its emission bounced to my glasses.
I went out of the room coughing and told my closest, that I tried it. They laughed at what I did. I went out of our office and went to the toilet.
As I was walking towards our office again, I saw outside the office, all my officemates were with cloth masks and coughing. I realized it was my pepper spray I tried. I apologized profusely.
One of my officemates had her asthma attack because of it. We all went to the view deck to let her breath. She was so cold in the hands and feet and she’s gasping. We let her sit and drink water. We told her to stop crying as it will aggravate her situation. As she drinks, slowly she was revived. I asked forgiveness for what I did.
If something bad happened to her, I am responsible. Thank God she was revived by drinking water.

Yes. But I am afraid I might erroneously touch it, so it's in a small pouch in my bag. I also see to it that it is safely on switch off.

Yes, I felt so guilty that I caused her attack. I was so afraid as we were consoling and helping her how to be revived. The safety officer has already radioed his team that she will be taken to the hospital.
Good thing she was revived after she has taken the water.

Lol
. You made me laugh with your experiment. I am sorry though that your workmate had an asthma attack because of that. It seems it is dangerous for me to have that as well because I have weak lungs. Be careful when you have that in your bag. Remember, it is only for the bad guys out there.

Good thing that your co-worker was fine. I didn't know that pepper spray works like that but now I know.

My friend and I tried pepper spray on a white shirt to see what it looked like. I do not recall a strong smell like that. I'm glad your office mate is better.

@hereandthere I don't know how it may look. I guess it will stain a white shirt but is washable, as it evaporates after a few minutes of spraying.

Don't ever get a taser - you might be tempted to test that at work too.

No, it's actually just bigger than a lipstick.
Actually, I was so relieved when she was revived by sipping water.
But after that, I was actually so glad that it is so potent.
I pray that I won't have to ever use it. It has two years before it expires.

One thing that was good in that is you are sure that what you bought online was working well. But the sad thing about it is when you actually use that in a real situation there is a tendency that you might also get affected by the spray because of the strength of the spray.
So be sure that when you do that the wind is not against you so that it won't hit you back as well.

I acted in haste.I didn't think first before I acted and that was what cause trouble. I should have tried it in an open space like in the sea deck on that floor, where the wind is going to the sea.
Well, there's always the first time, and I learned a hard lesson from the bad experience.

@rsa101 I actually don't bring it anymore in my bag. I forgot about it , since it is in a wallet like pouch and on an organizer in a shelf away from my sight.
I just pray always for my guardian angel to protect me, specially at night when I am calling a pedicab. I only ride for those that I have proven respectful and kind.

So sorry that this happened to you. A similar incident happened in our office when our receptionist used her pepper spray in the ladies room and for some reason, the chemical spread across the office and everyone was wheezing and had watery eyes and some had difficulty breathing.

@SIMPLYD she was checking it, if it was working. Everyone found out that it was indeed working.
Not sure if she was sanctioned about it though.

Wow, that is powerful stuff. Sorry about your asthmatic office mate. Hopefully, you will not ever have to use it on someone but now you know what it does.

Indeed, i only realized that after I have tried it on the wall. It nearly got into my eyes when it bounced from the wall. Good thing, I had my reading glasses on.
As to my officemate, I was so sorry and anxious when she had her asthma attack from the sniff of it.

That's what I thought of too, that it isn't that too strong to cause harm to my officemates. I somehow laughed at this incident after that day.

@epiffanie That's understandable because at night, hold-ups are common. I suppose if there is already pepper spray during that time you will also have one, not the icepick.

Ha ha ha! That's really a big mistake! It could affect people around you like a tear gas that exploded there. It's good your officemate got revived.

Precisely, that's the comparison of one of my officemate. It was so fierce that everyone was coughing and feeling dizzy when they sniffed it. Actually, it was just a small amount I sprayed.
