When the 1980s rolled around I was finishing university. I was still sad that my high school years were behind me and nostalgic about the music I enjoyed while growing up. During this time in Los Angeles, California started a new musical trend known as “glam rock”. It blew in with bands such as Motley Crue performing in the clubs around the city. Pretty much this kind of music was either you liked it or you didn’t care for it. However a band changed all that by showing a different side to his music that was a tender side.
Guns N’ Roses made the breakthrough on July 23, 1988 with the song “Sweet Child O’ Mine” which rose up to the number one spot on the Billboard Top 40. At first they appeared to be a band like all the others who played hard rock openly, honestly and with a burst of anger. Guns N’ Roses stayed true more to hard rock than heavy metal. As much as the band tried neither their debut single “Welcome to the Jungle” nor their first full-length album Appetite For Destruction gave them the stardom they were seeking. It took a whole year of touring and their second single “Sweet Child O’ Mine” to give them a place in music history.
The song went on to not only become a number one single but to also become a true rock classic and made stars out of Guns N’ Roses.

I always love it when rockers keep rocking even as the years go by it just makes me feel like time has a chance to stand still for a moment @arthurchappell Like the way I feel when I discover that both Bonnie Tyler and Cyndi Lauper are older than me.
