Favorite "Night" Songs #8 - "The Night"

Here I am, celebrating the nighttime with my Favorite "Night" Songs series, that is, songs that have "night" in the title. We are at #8, which is a band that appears quite often than in my music countdowns: Morphine, with "The Night." "The Night" is the title track of Morphine's 2000 album, which is the band's final album. The record was released shortly after vocalist/bassist Mark Sandman died onstage in Italy. The song is a very stripped down tune, even moreso than Morphine's usual stripped down blues/jazz sound. I can't tell if this is the official video or if someone made it themselves. Either way, it's sad to me because of the footage of Sandman. Morphine is one of my favorite bands. Feel free to enjoy the video. R.I.P. Mark. Thanks for the music.
