Sad news to report again. Lois Laurel Hawes who is the only daughter of the late comedian Stan Laurel of "Laurel And Hardy" fame has passed away due to an illness in Mission Hills California. Hawes was 89 years of age at the time of her passing. Her late mother was silent movie actress Lois Neilson who was the first of the four wives of Stan Laurel. Hawes starred in two movies with her late dad and his partner Oliver Hardy even though she did receive credit for being in the movies "The Chimp" (1932) and "Swiss Miss" (1938). Hawes starred in documentaries to keep the legacy of one of the greatest comedy duos of the classic era of Hollywood. We all miss that good old slapstick style of comedy today that in my opinion is not as funny with cuss words and political correctness. Hawes married three times to actors Rand Brooks, Lucky Jenkins and writer-actor Tony Hawes.

First I heard of this. She used to appear with screenings of her father's movies.
