Today marks the 5th anniversary of Tony Sly's death. He was 41 and seemed to be having back problems which lead to many issues with taking pain pills. That is what I gather from reading around.
He was the frontman for No USE For A Name. Was quite popular here in California, but not sure many outside this state have heard of the band or him. His fans says he writes some of the greatest lyrics you will ever hear, and unlike most punk singers, could actually sing.
I was wondering why all these songs were popping up as Tributes to Tony Sly in the last few days. Seems to have had a profound effect on everyone he came in contact with and helped so many bands along the way. Including one pretty big punk band in NOFX.
Fat Mike in particular, who even mentions that he needs to clean up his life so he can be around for his daughter. I think it is pretty cool when people appreciated ones life in such a way, even if it was so short.
Ironically, Tony Sly's played "Linoleum" and that would be the final song he ever played, which was a NOFX song. Fat Mike has a Tattoo of No Use For Name on his forearm I believe. He gets pretty choked up anytime he talks about them.
NOFX - I'm So Sorry Tony, from their new album "First Ditch Effort", out October 7 2016, Fat Wrech Chords I’ve never known a better writer or a better guy Hi...

I thought so too, I love the female chorus also, they just added her not to long ago. She sounds great.
