Commercials / Advertisements on TV

I do not know what it is like in other countries but the commercials on American TV are overwhelming. I think that it is partly because the economy appears good and the stock market is high so companies and corporations are advertising almost excessively. Some of the ads are very long as well as boring and there are sometimes 10 or so commercials in a row. Sometimes it seems that there are more commercials than actual programming. What is it like in other countries? We have some cute commercials like the Geico ads. They are very creative and never boring but some of the others are so bad that I have to turn the TV off for a minute or so hoping the commercial will be over. I especially can not stand the ads having to do with health issues and prescription meds. One of the biggest offenders for right now is Time Warner Spectrum. I wish they would spend less money on ads and more on products and services. Oh, and how could I forget the ones for KY Jelly. For those, living in the United States, what ads bother you the most? Are there any you like?
