We decided to try one of two new Indian restaurants last night using coupons purchased from Restaurant.com. The closest one refused to honor the coupon, so we left. The second one opened us with open arms and actually had a buffet. Unfortunately, the coupon was only good for menu orders, not buffet, but we wanted buffet, so we put the coupon away.
The food was delicious! Many items I had never seen or heard of before as many times as we've been to other Indian restaurants. I'll admit I didn't try everything because I don't eat super spicy foods, but I sure did enjoy what I did have.
The only disappointment was the naan bread which was somewhat dry having sat on the buffet in quartered pieces, but they made other breads to order and they were wonderful! The Lachha paratha was one I'd never heard of or seen before. It was really interesting - not bad - I just wasn't sure how to eat it.
I had butter chicken (murgh makhani), mutton dum biryani, plain rice, mango dal (never saw nor had before - wonderful!), eggplant pakora, dosas stuffed with potato masala that I then dipped in tamarind chutney, tandoori chicken, malabar parotta (another bread I'd never seen before and made fresh to order), some sort of paneer curry I'd never seen before (looked spicy, but wasn't) and freshly made papadam unlike any we'd ever seen before. My friend also had the pal appam, a bowl shaped rice flour crepe with coconut milk dipping sauce as well as their fish dish whose name I didn't know. For dessert I had the custard, which was identical to flan. They also had chai tea hot and ready to drink. It was wonderful!
I want to go back. The buffet was affordable and the menu items were what you'd expect from any other Indian restaurant (between $11 & $17). I hope I get to go again soon.

We can't eat all those in one meal.

I like all of them. I am tempted

They were offering both western and southern India options on their buffet tables. Three different biryanis (mutton, vegetable and chicken) plus plain rice, goat masala, butter chicken, just more than I can remember.
