the day of the books

The living room is back together. The floor is done and the furniture has been returned. New curtains adorn the windows and my collection of perfume bottles now have pride of place.
The cats are definitely happier that their world has returned to normal.
I just have two jobs left. Firstly, I must hang two pictures on one wall {apologies in advance to the cats who will no doubt scuttle under the spare bed when I start banging} and secondly, I need to go through our extensive 'collection' of books and decide where they're all going to live.
We have oodles of books. In itself, that's a bit weird. Husband isn't much of a reader {although he used to be} and I love reading but I'm not all that keen on reading a book twice.
Half of our books lived in the living room, but I've decided that they make it look too cluttered, so those books are currently living on the stairs. Choose a book as you go up to the loo. Their bookcase is now residing in the garage. So, I need to go through all the books in the house and put them into three piles.
1. Let's Keep It. We Might Read It Again One Day.
2. Let's Face It, Neither Of Us Is Going To Read This Again, Let's Charity Shop It.
3. Let's Face It, Neither Of Us Is Going To Read This Again, Let's Pass It On To Someone We Know Who Will Enjoy It.
But it's so difficult! Some books have sentimental value. Some deserve to be kept, just because. It's going to be a most painful experience to make decisions on most of those books.
*sigh*

I did wonder if any that were in good condition could go to the library. Next time I have a clear out I must remember to ask.

@poppylicious Debooking yourself is a heart-breaking thing to have to do. Sitting among them is my version of self indulgence.

It was sincerely heart breaking. But, I feel 'lighter' for having done it. Now someone else can take pleasure from them. :)

It is nice to think that someone else will enjoy them. :)
