A very interesting story came out in The Hollywood Reporter on Friday that You Tube Red will show ten half hour shows on the updated "Karate Kid" movies that starred Ralph Macchio as Daniel LaRusso and William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence who played LaRusso's bitter rival in the first movie that was directed by the late John Avildsen. The show will be a comedy as LaRusso and Lawrence so their rivalry will be renewed once again 30 years later after the end of the 1984 classic movie. This movie kind of reminds me of the comedy "Grudge Match" which starred Sylvester Stallone as Henry "Razor" Sharp and Robert De Niro as Billy "The Kid" McDonnen which was about a rubber match between the two Pittsburgh area boxers who fought twice with McDonnen winning the first bout by knockout and Sharp winning the rematch before they had their rubber match 30 years later promoted by Dante Slate Junior who was played by comedian Kevin Hart. By the way the show will be named "Cobra Kai" which is the name of the dojo where Lawrence will open the dojo as a form of redeeming his image as the villain in the first movie. Gee whiz Hollywood must think their customers are gluttons for punishment by recycling these motion pictures that played 30 years ago.

Good grief. Is there no original material around?

That is my gripe with Hollywood. They should create characters based on the life story of some of their stars and not recycle movies from the days of Adam And Eve walking the Earth.
