A Slow Friday Night/Saturday Morning

United States
August 5, 2017 5:00am CST
Usually when I'm online late at night, I have friends who are up to chat with. But tonight none of them can be found. I guess they all went to bed at a normal hour. Not me, of course. I probably won't be in bed until the sun comes up. But it's lonely having no one to talk to. My boyfriend is still up (it's just going on 3 a.m. here) but he is busy playing his online game. So, what to do? Perhaps I will go watch some TV, or try to work on one of my books. Might as well let my fictional characters keep me company if nobody in real life is around!

Things definitely seemed pretty slow yesterday. Hopefully, your fictional characters did keep you company. Hopefully, more people will be around today.

Hopefully. I spend most of my time alone at home so online interactions are usually the only socialization I get! When there's no one around to talk to I start feeling stir crazy and find myself conversing with the cat...

@Srbageldog It can be hard when you spend so much time home alone. It is nice to have some interaction here.

@Srbageldog Yeah, it was eerily quiet here yesterday.

I have always been a night owl myself, and it would always be frustrating to me when all my friends would log out for the night and go to bed. When I finally got to that point where there was no-one online to chat with anymore, I would put the computer down and pick up a book to read. Once I start reading a book, it's not too long after that I fall asleep.

That is what I ended up doing. Perhaps I should just start reading earlier in the evening so I'll fall asleep earlier and get up at a somewhat normal hour.

@Srbageldog There is a big difference in what we should be doing, versus what we actually do. Like you, I should also start reading earlier in the evening so that I will fall asleep at a normal hour. But I'm such a nigh owl, that I find myself constantly finding excuses to stay up later than I should. Then I complain in the morning about how tired I am! lol
