Miami Dolphins have contacted former quarterback Jay Cutler

Due to the Miami Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill's knee injury during training camp, the management of the Miami Dolphins are making contact with former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler to try out to make the team. Cutler became a free agent at the end of the 2016 football season. Since there was no team in the National Football League that wanted his services, Cutler accepted a job with Fox Sports to work as a broadcaster this year. If Tannehill has to miss a huge amount of playing time this year due to his knee injury, Cutler would come back to play football one more season since his former offensive coordinator Adam Gase is not the head coach of the Dolphins. Cutler and Gase have a great relationship as a quarterback and coach relationship which could have Cutler leave Fox Sports to come back to play quarterback for at least one more season. The starting quarterback for the Dolphins is Matt Moore after the injury to Tannehill last Thursday has placed him on the shelf for now.

I am not a Cutler fan. Great arm, but dude has no heart. I never see anyone winning it all with him. I understand why Dolphins picked him up though. He can get you some wins.

At least Jay can play a mentor role to Matt Moore.

Saw this on the news. So what gives, Cutler gets an offer and a job before Kaepernick?

I know what you mean since many owners do not want to sign Kaepernick due to his political views but Colin brings a better package to any team with his passing and running ability than Cutler does.

@Deepizzaguy owners staying away from Kaepernick because they don't want to alienate their fans and sponsors!

Unfortunately these sports players that come back for their last hurrah sometimes just don't make a sound. Bret Favre comes to mind. It is of course their decision and I wish them luck.

That is very true since leaving the game while on top seldom happens.

Interesting what Cutler will choose to do. Miami won't be in the Super Bowl so why should he endure another season of pointless abuse.

That is true. I do not want Jay to wind up with some brain related illness after he retires from football.
