Diversity or Reversity ? -
I'm just an old white guy, more or less getting ready to croak I suppose. Therefore, it makes no sense for me to rile people about matters of race, culture, shoe size, or food preferences, either.
I just now read a news piece that told me about Harvard University's incoming class of students. Seems like there are going to fewer young white kids heading to Harvard for its incoming class than there will be kids of color - one shade of color or another - the first time ever for this.
Before you get all worked up about such things and ask me for my opinion of so colorful a situation, I will just give it to you without you having to ask for it.
Indeed - I think that any institution that wants to secure its institutional future should follow Harvard's lead in selecting new students by skin color. One of three things is likely to occur. The school will improve, or it will degrade, or it will not appreciably change academically - one of those things. That is, the school will be a better, a worse, or an unchanged school in the future.
Yes, if more than half of the student applicants of Harvard are currently non-white in complexion, then Harvard is probably doing what it should be doing in forming up its new student body. Perhaps a reader here might know the applicant ratio ( colorful skin of applicants versus non-colorful skin ) - but the article I read failed to specify what that ratio might be.
Just a thought: If black and white did not work well together, you and I would be unable to read that which I just finished writing.

I think this is because the white don't care much of their education these days. The young seems to enjoy their life more than thinking of their future. As for the black, or any skin colours, they live in poor countries/families and education is a way for them to lead to the brigh future therefore they have to work harder to get there.
There are people love to wear clothes with ''brand labels'', so there will be people want to go to uni with ''brand labels'' as well. I hope you understand what I mean...

@atoz1to10 - There is a word or two missing in your interesting response. That word is "some" as in "some (...) people don't care much about their (...) these days." The comment actually carries itself across all skin color lines (and the ages of people), too. All too often we must wait for people to age before they straighten up and fly right.
I do understand what you mean in your response, and I thank you for it. -Gus-
