Some superstition when starting business.

Our youngest brother is set to open his business here in our place. He is our brother who built his house in his lot at the back of our ancestral home- he wanted to sell it but his daughter disagreed. He is the fur father of Sydney, the alpha-male wannabee dog.
He and my sister are having a chat as to when he will open his business. He thought of Feng- Shui, and he is seeking our advice too. When my sister asked me what my thoughts are, I simply told her that I don’t believe in Feng-Shui but what my late parents believed in.
When the date is written upward, like zero (0) or eight (8), it is good. Also, according to our mother (+). The moon should be rising or full, and not waning or new moon, because it will be ‘darkness’, businesswise.
My 2 siblings are talking what dates will be good, and because my sister errs in typing the dates, I took a shot of the full moon in September. Now, my brother is contemplating when he will open his business.
Do you have some superstitious beliefs when you want to start a business?

I'd defer opening a new business this month since August is considered a ghost month by the Chinese.

@ridingbet there really isn't something wrong with following these beliefs.

@allen0187 indeed, so it is also good to not say anything bad about somebody believing in superstition when the person is opening his business. all the best encouraging words should be uttered by well-wishers.

yes, i agree. August is a ghost month for the Chinese, that is why Feng Shui is believed by some business-minded people.

he asked my sister how much is promoting his business on cable TV, and calculating the total amount, it is expensive, i believe. my brother has just gotten his retirement pay , and before it is consumed, he is rushing for the opening of his business.

The number 8 and 0 matters to us too and we try to check the auspicious months or days.

the 8 and the 0 according to my mother is a good day, 8 as infinity, and 0, as in circles.
i read on FB though, that August is not a good month for business, because it is a GHOST month.

believing in some practices and superstitions won't hurt us anyway, that is why my brother thought of pushing through the date he said was right, according to Feng Shui. i also think before the grand opening, he should offer mass for its success. the Divine Intervention always works.

He should get the positive and practical side of fengshi like keeping the shop clean and free from clutter, keeping the place well lighted and ventilated etc...instead of the superstitious aspect

Total BS on the Fengshui. It's better if he just open the business and promote the business via paper or something. Superstitious beliefs are nothing. He needs to know the demand and supply.
