Police paid pittance

Good day all, today I would like to vent my frustration towards the appalling pay and conditions the uk police force work under.
My partner has been a police officer for almost 4 years yet the amount he gets paid is barely enough to live on. He does not live an extravagant life, he might go on a night out once or twice a month, shops in Aldi and Asda, rarely buys clothes and if he does they are usually from primark, and any holidays we have are always budget. Every month he goes out into the city with his colleagues to deal with some of the most vile people on the planet, he puts himself in extremely dangerous and volatile situations on a daily basis, often alone and with only a stick and some pepper spray for protection. He has been involved in incidents ranging from minor anti social behaviour issues to major terrorist attacks. I see him and his colleagues struggle with the mental anguish, frustration and sorrow these events cause and it is heartbreaking. My partner loves his job and is perfect for it, he has amazing people skills and knows exactly what to do in any situation, he is a born cop but as the working conditions are now I don't see him lasting out his full career on the streets as he would love to do. Month by month he sinks more and more into his overdraft, has rest days cancelled at the drop of a hat, walks around like a zombie when he has only 11 hours between shifts and comes home starving because he hasn't had time to eat. I am not a politician and I don't proclaim to know anything about the uk budget but from what I see these heroes do on a day to day basis and the things I know they would do without question or regard for their own safety I just can't get my head around how they are compensated so little. The emergency services staff are the most amazing people and we should treat them with the respect they deserve. I believe this includes paying them a wage that allows a reasonable standard of living, not scraping by living on the bread line! Get rid of the 1% pay cap! Wise up to what is really important in this world!

Hello Welcome to myLot.
Yes as the other responder mentioned, some spacing would be good, some paragraphs.
I had no idea though that UK cops were so underpaid. That is appalling considering they put their life on the line everyday in the UK.
