Favorite Gary Moore Songs #10 - "Lost in Your Love"

I have been here on MyLot about a year and half year. In that time, I have done 62 music countdowns. The majority of them have had a theme, rather than just 10 songs from a band or artist. This particular series will focus on my favorite guitarist, the late Gary Moore. #10 is Moore's stab, even though he had been a bluesman for years, at rock songs with dance beats: "Lost in Your Love."
From his 1999 album, A Different Beat, "Lost in Your Love" is aimed directly at the radio. Naturally, if it was even released as a single at all, "Lost in Your Love" failed to chart.
Too bad, because this would have sounded just boffo on the radio. Moore was an insanely talented guitarist, and his solo on this is, well, something to behold.
Gary Moore spent his professional career both as a hard rocking protest singer and bluesman. "Lost in Your Love" came as a bit of a shock, totally unlike anything Moore had done to that point.
Frankly, it's a fantastic tune that highlights Gary Moore as an extraordinary guitarist, as proved by his solo.
And it's nowhere near the solo's he'd been doing throughout his career.
My god, was this man talented, even if he was experimenting with a new style. And this was definitely different: every sweet note emanating from his guitar still beats a lot of guitar work from more popular axe slingers.
R.I.P., Gary. I am soooo glad I got to see you in concert.Thank you for the music.

Awesome stuff right there, some of that guitar reminds me of Joe Satriani in short bursts though.

There are places where he sounded a little like Peter Frampton vocally (that's not meant as an insult). Good song, though.

I had to go listen again, but I hear it now. When I saw Bowie, Peter was his guitarist. It was pretty cool.

NFL Films once did a documentary on him. He got so fast because he practiced with thick, heavy strings when he was young.
