Save Our Philharmonic Orchestra!

The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Orchestra has been a treasure in Northeastern Pennsylvania for generations. It has entertained us and brought us together for a very long time. Recently, the orchestra has come on hard financial times and is considering suspending its operations. Clearly the community should make an effort to save this great institution. Perhaps, there could be fund raisers for the organization. For example, the Kirby Center, Kirby Park and other venues could allow the the orchestra to perform without renting the facility. Then citizens could attend free of charge with a ten dollar donation. What do you think? Has your community lost great cultural, artistic, and musical assets in the past? What kind of effort did your community make to save the assets? What advise can you give to the citizens of Northeastern Pennsylvania? Source:
