Blogger vs. Writer

Some say that someone can be a blogger if he is a writer. But others say that someone can`t be a blogger if he is not a writer. Is it true? Writers are made, not born. If you dream to blog, be a writer first. If you dream to be a writer, be a lover of words first. If you want to be a lover of words, make your thoughts and emotions healthy. One word starts to grow from the mind. Then, it blooms to the heart. In the end, it will become a part of our reality. The answer to the first question being asked varies from one person to another. I want to ask you. If you will be given two opportunities at the same time - to write a book or to blog, which one is your choice? And why?

I am currently writing my first book. It's not easy but it's something that I've always wanted to do. Now, I'm also thinking that I might write a blog. So, I'm researching ideas and such. What can I say? I've always enjoyed writing.

There is nothing wrong when you write and blog at the same time. If it is really your passion to jot down your thoughts, it will be easy for you to do. You are on the right track to go for blogging while writing your first book. Blogging is the stem of your book. While your blogging, you learn something valuable to write/include in your book. Thumbs up!

I think I would prefer to be a blogger, cause it's kind of easier than writing a book...

@Xiasses I created one early this year just to know how it feels to be a blogger... I'm not so serious with it... I've abandoned it already cause I don't think its useful...

@Oshobu Don`t give up if ever you build a blog site again, okay? We got a similar feeling when we think that our blog posts are just trashes. But actually, it is really not. We just have been too judgemental and too affected by the thought that readers will criticize us sooner if not later. We only have to push more extra effort to polish our content. Don`t be so hard on yourself. Just write, read, edit and go, publish it. Be proud of your pieces. They are products of your soul.

A blog because I'm not very good at technical writing and besides, I'm a person who likes to interact. With blogs, I allow my readers to interact with me directly.

It is true to me at first. Words are my worst enemy when I was a child. Every time our teacher gave us a writing task, I am the very last one to pass my paper. I did not imagine or dream that I will be writing pieces online. Now, it is my career. I am still striving but I know that there is nothing impossible if I will exert more effort, patience and time in writing. You are a writer of your soul. You can surpass the difficult phase of writing. At first, it is really hard but never gives up. Achievements are earned, not given.

I think it is a matter of convenience and a willingness to commit to one or the other or both. Writing articles for a blog is quicker. If you want to write a novel or a novella, you can do it if you spend enough time at it. Try just writing a story and start with the names of the characters, the first paragraph of the story as an introduction, then add more to it every day until you have at least a few hundred pages. It's like writing a diary, but to commit to it, you must be willing to put aside other things you might do. You could try both and see which is right for you.

How amazing you are Anthony! I think your comment is based on experience. Hmmm, you just gave me tips on writing novels. I sincerely thanks you for that. I haven`t written novels, but maybe someday. I visited your account. You can imagine how I dropped my jaw after reading some of your posts. They make sense. I will comment some of those post, one of these days. Right now, I am truly in my moment of enjoyment reading it so I forgot to provide comments. Hehe. Let me read your thousand discussions. Until then, have a good day!

The way i read your first sentence it says the same thing positive then negative. However I think anyone can write a blog and most anyone can be a writer, it depends on how you define the two terms. A blogger does not necessarily have to tell a story only relate happenings, desires or hopes. A writer on the other hand needs to create characters and plots and story lines.

I write a lot but it mostly flash fiction. I do have a book in the works but in order to finish it, I must kill of the main character who I have become too attached to, so I guess it will never be finished.

Every writer writes in different styles, pace, and angles. The writers are the ones who make the so-called "stories" exist in this world. Whether you write fiction or non-fiction, it is your freedom to do so. Whether you end the story dramatic or not, it is up to you and readers cannot do anything about it. Only an author can decide what to do on his own pieces. Goodluck to your writing career, brother!
