The World As Seen By Young People

As an older person, I remember a much different world than what we see today. When I was a teenager, the world was a much calmer environment.
We didn’t even lock our doors at night. In the summertime, we slept with the doors open and only a screen door to let in the cool night air.
As children, we were allowed to play out in the nearby woods and down by the creek. We had no cell phones and sometimes we would be gone for hours without our parents even knowing where we were.
I don’t ever remember feeling afraid, even after dark, when we would play “kick the can,” a game of hide and seek.
I remember riding the bus, by myself, when I was 10-12 years old, to go roller skating, in another town. The bus stopped at the top of a hill and I had to walk several blocks down the hill to get to the skating rink.
After skating ended, it was dark and I had to walk back up that hill to the bus stop to catch the bus back home. There were a few street lights but basically it was very dark and all the buildings were dark.
To do something like that today? It would be unheard of. Today, my doors and windows are locked, even in the day time. My car is locked at all times. My grandchildren are not allowed to be out of sight.
Today the realities are crime, abduction of children, kidnapping, war, terrorist attacks, children starving to death, robberies.
If you are a young person, your only experience in this world must make it impossible to believe that the world used to be different. It must be difficult to imagine what the world used to be like.
It’s not uncommon to hear a long list of horrible incidents on the evening news every night. Some young people refuse to watch the news, but that doesn't mean all these horrible things are not happening.
WHY is the question that most people ask. WHY are all of these things happening now? Will things ever get better?
Watch this 3 minute video and you will have the answer.
Why study the Bible? Find answers to life’s big questions: Is there a God? Will suffering end? See how to get a free Bible study at a time and place convenient for you.

When I was a kid things were much different than they are now as well. I was allowed to play in the neighborhood with friends until the street lights came on. My parents were overprotective when it came to the movies or the mall with friends but I know now they loved us enough to protect us.
My children live in a very different world...a sad world indeed. We are a Christian family and I thank God for our faith.

It's a very sad world, indeed, but as a Christian, you realize, I'm sure, that the Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for in the "Lord's Prayer" is soon to come. It's God's promise to the righteous that things are going to change.
Psalm 37:9-11 and Revelation 21:3, 4
We, as Christians, have faith and hope in God's promises for a "new heaven and a new earth."
Did you have a chance to view the video? It's so eye-opening to why things are so bad in the world today and it explains what God plans to do in the future.
Here's another link that explains EXACTLY what God's KINGDOM will do.
Bible-based movies and videos for families, teenagers, and children. Documentaries about Jehovah’s Witnesses. Watch or download.

@IreneVincent I can't watch the video since I have very slow data on my phone.
However, I have read Revelation I know it's all in there about the end of the world and how things are going to be at the end. It's looking like the end of time is getting closer and closer.

@LovingMyBabies I understand. The video is only three minutes long but that could still be a problem for you so I do understand.
Yes, the end of this old system of things is near. Soon there will be a righteous new world. What each person must do is to make sure they know what the instructions are to survive.

Many people, especially younger persons will say that it's ALWAYS been like this, but that's because they have never seen anything different. Their life began long after things began to get worse in the world. They have no idea what it was like 50 or 60 years ago.

@nanette64 A lot of parents don't talk to their kids, I agree. It's so important though. Kids can grow up not knowing how to survive in an adult world. Some parents let the TV or other electronic devices occupy their children's minds. The results are not good.

@IreneVincent And for some reason parents don't even talk to kids anymore about anything.

Um I'm 25 and young, and i remember the same as you do for your young years. But bad things have always happened, its just more often, and more on the news then 30+ years ago.

@Courtlynn Things were NEVER supposed to be like it is now. But, as I said, there is a REASON for what's happening in the world today and God is going to do something about it soon. The videos explain it very well.
