It's the only road to my workplace

It's 2.5 km only from where I live to the office. The road's been congested especially during working hours for a bridge is being under restoration. I heard it would take about 4 months to complete. For me personally, the congestion doesn't disturb me at all as I usually walk to the office. It's terrible for my friends who hate walking while their houses are about 2.5 km too.
The road's often heavily conjested as well whenever there is an accident. It's the only road that links areas where factories are located. Big trucks often rely on this road and make smaller vehicles to suffer.
How's the road in your area, by the way?

That sounds really horrible. Where I used to live, they would "fix" the roads every year - and it causes really bad traffic. It usually only takes me 40 minutes at the most but when they do their road repairs, it takes me almost 2 hours to get home. I think it's been 13 years that they've been trying to fix the road to our place. Sometimes I feel that they're using that as an excuse to get money from the Government. There are roads that have been okay for years but this particular one, they can't seem to fix.

Actually, the bridge is still in good condition. The local government probably wants appropriated fund to be cashed out as soon as possible. It's only assumption.

@yanzalong aha, that's the usual here in the Philippines. If they need funds, they go and start doing road work. Everyone knows it but no one ever wants to talk about it or raise it.

if the sun is high and hot, or if it's raining, it would be a challenge walking 2.5 km.

It sure would. But I go to the office at 06:30; it's not warm yet and when I get home, it's already sunset.
