Favorite Gary Moore Songs #2 - "Murder in the Skies"

If you were around in the 1980's, you probably remember this incident. We are at #2 in my Favorite Gary Moore Songs series, which celebrates the life of my favorite guitarist, and yes, it's a protest song: "Murder in the Skies." Although he made more than his share of straight rock and roll songs, Irish guitarist Gary Moore had a knack for writing protest songs, mainly anti-war tunes. From his 1983 album, Victims of the Future, "Murder in the Skies" was Moore's hard rocking reaction to the Soviet Union's shooting down Korean Airlines Flight 007 over the Sea of Japan earlier in the year. It was not released as a single, although the album performed quite well, reaching #12 in the UK (oddly, none of the album's singles but one charted.) These days, I see comments all over the place that today's music has nothing to say. Well, Gary Moore had something to say. "Murder in the Skies" is one of his best. (Info verified by Wikipedia)
