Due to the thumb injury to Boston Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley Junior who sprained his left thumb sliding into home plate on Tuesday which will place him on the 10 day disabled list, the Red Sox traded minor league prospect Rafael Rincones to the Oakland A's for the services of outfielder Rajai Davis on Thursday. Davis is likely to be playing as a reserve player for the Red Sox for the remainder of the 2017 Major League Baseball season since the Red Sox have enough outfielders on their current roster. Bradley is not expected to miss more than two weeks from his left thumb sprain that did not have any ligament damage which is a good thing for the American League East Division leaders.

A good pick up. Davis is a solid role player.
