I have never made a resume or a cover letter so right off the bat I know this is going to be difficult for me. I didn't get a degree from the college, I will have a diploma from the program though so I know I can put that down on the resume in education I think. I have no work experience what so ever though which worries me the most and seems like it will be the most damaging part of the resume to me. My teachers have told me about what things to put down on the resume but I know I will struggle with where exactly I should put the info and how. I was looking at resume templates on microsoft word and a lot of them look so confusing. Luckily I was reminded that in our textbook we have examples of a resume and cover letter that could serve very well for me. I was also advised to google what a good dental assistant resume should look like. Just to be sure i am doing things correctly my husband's friend will be coming over tomorrow to help me make my resume as well as he has plenty of experience with it. Do you know how to make a resume and cover letter? If so, what advice could you give me?

i hate doing them for minimum wage jobs, i just find it a waste of time. i think ive only had to do resumes for job temp//placement agencies. I think ive been using the same cover letter template for over 10 years now, as for the resume, i just update the information.

I find it hard to market myself since I have no job experience and no idea on how to market skills I have because of it. Nevermind how incredibly nervous I am if I magically manage to get an interview.

@IvySaysHi - thats where you sell yourself during the interview. tell them you have patience with children, since you have kids. (you do have kids right? or am i incorrect?) just , as the saying goes - "pimp yourself out". good luck ! all the best !

I have always used the templates given online, some are rather simple so that's what I have used in the past. I wish you luck with it!
