Christians and Halloween (Introduction)

Halloween is the biggest event of the Fall season in America. From costume parties, to church events, to haunted trails and houses, to trick or treating, to ghost hunts, Halloween brings out all the fun loving and spooky creatures.
However, many Christians believe it is a sin to celebrate Halloween. I used to be one of them. Churches often have alternative Halloween events (such as Harvest Festivals or Trunk or Treating) in order to skirt the evils of the holiday.
It is for this reason that I would like to lead a blog series addressing these issues and either debunking or affirming the reasons Christians should not celebrate Halloween.
So respond with your questions and ideas on this subject, but let us all remember to be civil and understand it is ok to disagree. This series should be exciting and informative.

While there are sacrifices and such on Halloween it's not something we are physically participating in so I have always let my children go trick or treating. It's something fun for them and all they are thinking is CANDY of course! =)
