I Need Better Confidence

I really do need better confidence. I see so many of my acquaintances on Facebook that in all honesty are just as homely looking as I am and yet their confidence is through the roof. I want to have the confidence that they have. So I am making it a point to work on myself and my self esteem and confidence. I am going to look at different things I can do like this online to help me accomplish this. Do you have self esteem or confidence issues? Did you have them and fix them? Any tips on how I can do this?

First off you are far from homely. Part of building you confidence is believing in yourself and not putting yourself down. You wouldn't let anybody say that about your family or friends so don't say it about yourself. I know we are our own worse critics. I struggle with self esteem issues myself so I know how you feel. Confidence is beautiful I wish I had more.

Thank you, you are gorgeous. I know that I am definitely my biggest obstacle and I want to work hard to turn that around and make myself my biggest supporter

I have self-esteem / confidence issues, due to being bullied in middle and high school. And also from my ex being verbally and emotionally abusive to me. But, mine are nowhere like they were 10 years ago, they have gone up; thanks to having some amazing friends.. and even some therapy. And I hope you can find a way to get yours up soon too.

Thank you. I don't have many friends but the ones I have are close to me and help me when they can but 2 out of three of them are in another state and have their own lives and the third one has her own stuff going on here.

I had that issue back when I was a student. I lacked self-confidence because I was insecure. I felt ugly and skinny. But I had this friend back in high school who was fat and yet she was really confident of herself. The more I spent time with her, the more I learned that physical appearance isn't everything. I gained confidence after that.

It's often when we face an unknown or uncertainty that our confidence fail us. Accepting that failure is part of the learning process and acquiring the skill set needed to face that uncertainty builds confidence. As to comparing ourselves to others, that's the best way to acquire low self- esteem.

IS that you in the picture? You're not homely, you're cute! But - I feel you, I too have self esteem issues. I am getting ahead of myself a little, since I want to write more about this topic - but I have found help through dance classes
