Can sleep sounds help you sleep?

There are apps in Google play that plays sleep sounds or sounds for relaxing. I love listening to nature sounds and relaxing melodies. I can hear sounds of rain, thunder, waterfalls, oceans, white noise and more. There are even lullabies. Though I like their sound it did not put me to sleep. I even find it hard to sleep because of the noise in my ear. It does not work for me. I need complete silence to fall asleep. But it's good for relaxing your mind.

I listen to similar tracks on YouTube. They don't make a lot of difference for me. I can listen to heavy metal and fall asleep if 'tired enough', not a big deal. However, I search for isochronic tones on YouTube to stay awake, I pour coffee in my ears so to speak. And that works a little.

I heard about that isochronic tones and binaural beats. They sound creepy. I think they are not effective for sleep. It's more good to use for keeping you awake

Nope... I'd rather drink camomile tea than listen to that.
