This is, considering that Hurricane Harvey has laid waste to Houston, a timely music countdown. Basically, the song has to reference weather in some way in the title. We are at #8 in the series: "Rain on Tin" by Sonic Youth.
Sonic Youth was known for the guitar interplay between Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, both of whom played off tune guitars, and often used objects such as screwdrivers to coax different sounds out of the instruments, while bassist Kim Gordon and drummer Steve Shelley played it straight.
From their 2002 album, Murray Street, "Rain on Tin" was not released as a single, yet it was a highlight of their set when I saw them. I've linked to a live performance, which is quite awesome, although it was much better in person.
Enjoy!

I did not know that about all the screw drivers and stuff. Pretty cool.

They were all about noise and different sounds.

I agree with John, it's almost an instrumental. The melodic guitar parts make you forget the singing at the beginning!

That's true, Thurston might as well not have sang at all.

I've always thought Sonic Youth were brilliant.

I do admire people who can play the guitar.

I do too. I tried to learn, but I'm not coordinated that way.

It's basically an instrumental as the singing stops under 2 minutes and they just rock out with the guitars.

Yeah, pretty much. It's almost like an extended jam.
