Interesting conversations me and my Beautiful Italian Friend have on Messenger: Hello, where are you? {her} Hello, I'm at home? {me} I slept very poorly last night, and this message did little to stop me feeling anxious about my return to work tomorrow. Maybe it's Wednesday? Nope. Definitely Tuesday. Still, it inspired me to check my work emails, just to be on the safe side. I discovered that a former vice-principal passed away, a colleague I know - but don't know - had a motorbike accident and spent six weeks in hospital, I was supposed to complete an online survey, and I'm definitely not due back until tomorrow. Phew. Hi. Hi. Good holiday? Yes, good thanks. Didn't it go fast? ... is the conversation we all have with each other upon returning from a longish summer break. Within five minutes of greetings we may as well have never been away. Still, at least the students won't be back till next week, so it may be quite relaxed. I don't feel rested. And at the same time I don't feel that I've really achieved anything. In fact, I could really do with another seven weeks off. Perhaps I can rewind time? No? Oh. *sigh*

Holidays. Never long enough. Always so far off. The bridge looks not too dissimilar to one near here...
Open main menu Search Foyle Bridge, from the Derry city side. The Foyle Bridge is a bridge in Derry, Northern Ireland. The central cantilever span of the bridge is the longest in the island of Ireland, at 234 metres (767 ft), and the whole suspended bridge

I'm assuming that you are a school teacher. Yes, summer is over for the most part and school is ready to start here. My grandson has already started at the Community College. He started on August 21st. He will be in the 11th grade of high school which starts NEXT Tuesday, but he is also taking college classes at the Community College. He has FULL schedule this year and just got his Driver's License. He's 16 years old.

Former teacher, still working in education supporting students mostly aged 16-19 with autism, mental health issues and ADHD, amongst other things. I'm in the UK and most schools won't reopen until the 1st of September.
