How do you deal with being by yourself?

Sometimes in life, we have to go through phases where we have to be by ourselves, whether a little more permanently or just for the night. How does one deal with that? What comforts you in being alone?

Feeling lonely is normal, but it's nothing I can't get by. I had 4 years away from home when I left for university so I can manage it.

Oh, okay. It's nice to know that you're not alone in being alone. Hehe. I guess we all have our own ways of dealing with it. At university, I suppose you have uni mates to give you company. I guess it's probably important to be in some social circle through some medium. For example, through university, office type of work, hobby groups, etc.

@InquisitiveMind Not really, I had friends yes, but I really didn't have time to interact with them. My uni days were full of just studying and a bit of sleeping, not much of socializing and fun.

Yeah. It's nice to have someone around to talk to and to make us feel like we're not alone.

I have been single for a while but rarely feel lonely. Surround yourself with friends and family if you need to he around others. I am usually pretty content with doing most things on my own!

Oh, that's nice to hear. Yeah, I guess friends and family can help. Only for some, it's a bit difficult to relate with family if closeness isn't too much of a common thing in the household. I guess friends can help, but then life happens and takes them away from us. Then you have all the obligations and stuff.

You could try surfing the net when alone and you'll be surprised with the knowledge gained.I prefer this than being with lousy people

Hmm... I suppose you have a point. Better to be alone than to be with toxic people. I guess it's nice to learn more things online. I do use it for that a lot. But I guess social interaction is also a separate need. I guess chatting and stuff like that could help with that, perhaps.

Whenever I'm alone I feel it is another chance to get to know myself better because as human beings, we often act different around people. I always listen to music, watch movies and chat online with friends. I always try my best to enjoy my own company because being idle will make me feel more lonely.

You have to realize that everyone is not suppose to be in our life forever. It goes alone with life is a lesson which means people we meet only part of our lesson good or bad. The reason why we are alone is just like school we have teachers and classmates. The teacher give you the lessons you supposed to know and you along with classmates learn and grow together or you don't. Same in personal life
