African eating bowls

Before the coming of science and technique which has brought us good eating plates our forefathers had their special bowls made from wood, it is carved and made smooth like a dish and food is being served inside ,some parts of Africa like Cameroon in some villages still use this bowls ,it is believed that food served in this bowl Taste more good ,even cups were made from wood people ate with their hands with no problem truly I tell u it is fun seeing people eat in it

big bowls like that tend to be serving dishes here. you put a serving spoon or serving fork, then put the dish in the middle of the table, so others can scoop servings into their plates.
what's inside those plates?
