I've just completed a YouGov survey {love you, free bus weefee!} and one of the questions it asked was Do you remember where you were when you heard Princess Diana died?
Yes.
Yes, I do. More through circumstance than choice though.
Mumsy and I were heading home from Prague on a coach. On the ferry we heard tales of an accident in Paris involving Diana. Ooh. Customs was a nightmare back in those days, and we had to wait for ages as the eastern Europeans went through, showing their letters of invitation. As we waited we listened to the radio.
Princess Diana died.
I like to think we were some of the first to hear. I remember the girl standing in the rain, waiting to be sent home. We drove from Dover to London on quiet motorways and drove through empty streets where people were yet to wake up to the news.
But that was twenty years ago.
Twenty!
I am so old.

I was 4, so I don't remember. Hahaha. We still have magazines featuring that around the house and I've read most of them, so I guess I am quite informed about the things that happened then.

Probably more informed than me ... I try to steer clear of media information about it!

@Poppylicious What I do know though is based on speculations by the media and not from opinion based on my own observations. Documentaries I have watched featuring Diana seem to be biased too.

@JeeyanDee They do often portray her as the innocent party in everything that happened. It irks me, as Charles was forced into the marriage too. At least the royal family learnt from their mistake and let William marry Kate.
