Reflections in the Dark

As I was sitting on our porch swing tonight, waiting for my dog to get ready to come back in the house, my mind began to process many thoughts. Most people are afraid of the dark. That is certainly true for two of my kids and some of their friends. Why is that? The same bad things that happen in the dark, also happen in the daytime. I feel peace and intrigue sitting outside in the dark. It also builds my faith. The God I serve in the day is still God at night. For me, I have (in the past) been so consumed with serving a local church and listening to the voices of others that I have failed to experience who God truly is. For me, being alone outside at night, listening to crickets and frogs, feeling a cool breeze, and looking at the stars reveals the majesty of my Heavenly Father. It is in the still, quiet of the night that I hear Him the loudest. Just sharing some of my reflections of tonight...

I love to sit out on the porch and listen and wait for the quiet.

I am not afraid to be outside in the dark or in the light of the day.
